Biography
Francisco Gil-White was educated at the University of Chicago (M.A. in Social Sciences) and the University of California at Los Angeles (Ph.D. in evolutionary and sociocultural anthropology). In addition to anthropology, his work spans the disciplines of psychology, political science, geopolitics, investigative journalism, and historiography. He has taught in the Department of Psychology at the University of Pennsylvania, in the Department of Management at the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM), and at the Universidad del Medio Ambiente. While teaching at ITAM, he was the most cited researcher at that institution.
His main research topic focuses on the question: What are the psychological/sociological laws responsible for the fact that, through communication and social learning, certain beliefs, habits, traditions, ideologies, etc., propagate and remain stable while others die out?
Within this broad field he pays special attention to the psychological biases that incline us to favor racist ideologies, and is the author of an influential theory on the subject that won, in 1999, the Human Behavior and Evolution Society's best new researcher award.
Beginning in 2003, Gil-White has focused especially on the geopolitical and political consequences of the New Antisemitism in the current context of the Arab-Israeli conflict, and on the phenomenon of antisemitism in the broader context of Western political history over 2500 years. He explains his research in The Collapse of the West: The Next Holocaust and Its Consequences, a projected 10-volume work, where Gil-White traverses 25 centuries to identify the fundamental contribution of the Jewish people to the democratic liberation of Western peoples, and where he explains anti-Semitism as a strategy of psychological warfare launched by way of reaction by repressive ruling classes. The Collapse began to be published in 2013, and to date the first 5 volumes have been published.
